The cells in your body regenrate constantly. Every 7 years, you have a completely new set! Which means you’re always getting a brand new body.

So who cares what your face looks like? You’ll get a new one soon!

You’re beautiful because of what you do, what you say, what you make, and how you think. I can guarantee you no one in the history of the whole planet has ever felt truly fulfilled because of their six-pack abs. No one’s eyeliner has ever made their friends love them more.

I say this: please (especially my wonderful lady friends), try to start thinking of yourself as a soul and not a body. And here’s the kicker: it’s not easy. It’s SO not easy. But I don’t think it’s a naive request to ask “Hey, just for today, just for a few minutes: try and fight off the negative thoughts you have about your body. Your body doesn’t make you wonderful. Your body it isn’t why your friends love you. Your body isn’t why I love you.” So please, as a favor to me: give me five minutes of that. Please. Because for fucks’ sake, you all deserve happiness that isn’t inextricably linked to your appearance.

Okay, my body-image rant is complete. But it’s something I wanted to say. At least I avoided using the phrase “you are a warrior.”
