Happy Self-Esteem week!!
I’m celebrating a week’s worth long of wonderful things about you.
It’s my opinion that people are unnecessarily mean to themselves most of the time. They concentrate on the failures and forget that they’re a complex, breathing, completely snowflakey-unique individual with a heart and soul all their own. Remind yourself this week: YOU ROCK.
I challenge you this week to do these 3 things:
- Say (OUT LOUD) once a day, “Hey, (Your Name Here), I’m glad that I’m you.” Out loud folks, not in your head.
- Write a note on your fridge (ugh this sounds stupid already! Well it’s not. Trust me) that says “Hi (Your Name Here)! I LOVE ya!” It will make you smile.
- Don’t read magazines that make people feel like they’re not “good enough.” (good enough for who? Who is judging who’s “good enough?” I have never heard of these people.) This includes but is not limited to: Cosmopolitan, Victoria’s Secret, Esquire, GQ, Vogue, Teen Vogue, People, Maxim, Playboy, Playgirl, US Weekly, OK!, Glamour, RedBook, Jane, Allure, Self, InStyle, Shape, Marie Claire, Elle, Nylon, Men’s Fitness, Star, In Touch, and King.
Also during this week, make someone feel good! It’ll make you feel good too. Compliment someone, send a “thinking-of-you” e-mail, remind someone of something great they’ve done in the past. Most often, saying something nice to others really does make you feel better about yourself. This week is for EVERYONE! Don’t make me celebrate it alone!
But if you do one thing this week, please let it be this:
Text me.
Or e-mail saying “hello!”
Or send me an @ reply on twitter (@boozan).
Because there will be a surprise in store for you at the end of the week. Plz do it. And that is all the mushy self-love I will subject people to today.
I love you (and I also love myself)-
Glenn
